Bethany and Bryant’s Wedding Film at Cabo del Sol, Los Cabos

What do you read in almost every wedding-related blog (including ours!) online? Words like “amazing”, “spectacular” and “over-the-top fun” come to mind. While there isn’t a wedding we are lucky enough to capture that doesn’t hold true to all of the above, Bethany and Bryant’s April extravaganza at the ultra-exclusive Cabo del Sol Ocean Golf Course took hardcore wedding awesomeness to another level altogether. Along with their closest family and childhood friends, these dancing soul mates turned an overcast Saturday in Los Cabos into an epic evening celebration of love and togetherness, and here are the highlights!

It’s no secret that every bride wants to shine on her wedding day, and Bethany kicked off the all-important preparations in the comfort of Cabo del Sol’s bridal suite. Never one to blindly follow trends, Bethany said a loud no to this season’s natural makeup fad, opting to go smokey-eyed and metallic. Her stunning gown featured a strapless, sweetheart neckline, mermaid silhouette and divine ruffles, finished with a loosely formed updo and a beautiful Cathedral length veil. And what makes a gala bride? The diamond-encrusted tiara on top! Bethany’s look was both traditional and modern, romantic and fashion-forward all neatly molded into one perfect package, and we can’t get enough of it!

Over on the men’s side of paradise, Mr. McIver played the best supporting groom role down to a tee. Elegant in a white dinner suit and black bow tie, he donned a pair of studded velvet loafers that absolutely every groom should have! Backed up by a fashion-forward bevy of bridesmaids and groomsmen in all black, and baby McIver just oozing cuteness, this was one bridal party ready to rock, and we knew dancing was on the cards.

As the second hand clicked ever closer to ceremony time, we moved our cameras to the impressive Ocean Meadows, overlooking the Sea of Cortez. The afternoon’s broody weather had formed perfect, rolling waves to serve as our backdrop, and the creative team at The Main Event Cabo concocted a ceremony design featuring barely-there acrylic chairs, a crisp white aisle, and an abundance of pampa grass details. The look was clean and classic with a touch of the bohemian. Bethany made her grand entrance to the soothing sounds of the violin, on the arm of her adoring father and carrying a romantic bouquet of cream and pastel blossoms. As for the groom, our shots of Bryant’s joyful tears speak far more than any words we could write ^HERE^.

With the formalities under wraps, it was time for the long-awaited reception, which would be one for the record books. Choosing to keep their reception outdoors and take full advantage of all that Cabo’s evening skies have to offer, Bethany and Bryant entrusted all of their wedding dreams, hopes and visions to one person, Mr. Jose Carillo from The Main Event Cabo, and let’s just say he hit a home run. Jose delivered a jaw-dropping, all-white reception space framed by an open canopy and a glorious ceiling of twinkling lights. The monogrammed dance floor, crowned with a sparkling chandelier was the center of the evening’s happenings.

Our favorite moments? The bride and groom’s money dance, a surprise performance by Bryant’s dancing groomsmen and one very off-script garter toss (watch again to see where it got caught!).

Congratulations Bethany and Bryant on becoming Mr. and Mrs. McIver, and thank you for entrusting us with your most precious moments. To the wonderful team at Karla Casillas and Co, you’ve created magic once again. We are overjoyed to have played a small part in your success.

Until next time,

Vicki and Vik’s Wedding at Sunset Mona Lisa, Los Cabos

Vicki and Vik’s Los Cabos destination wedding in July was set to be a scorcher. Summer’s unrelenting sunshine was forecast to push the mercury high and the absence of cloud cover provided little hope of intermittent bouts of shade, but this Colorado couple was determined to celebrate their nuptials in style. Along with wedding planner Paola from Cabo in Love, Vicki and Vik decided to go big, bold and beautiful, combining good food, great wine and a lot of color into a weekend-long celebration worthy of celebrity status.

We unpacked our cameras at host resort Grand Fiesta Americana, where friends and family buzzed with excitement as the traditional Indian Haldi ceremony unraveled. Covering the faces, hands, and feet of the soon-to-be newlyweds in bright yellow turmeric paste is said to invite luck, prosperity and ward off evil spirits, a stepping stone into a happy life as man and wife. It was a moment of peace, joy, and togetherness that set standards high for what was to come. Guests were brimming with excited energy, waiting anxiously to see what else this fun-loving couple had in store.

On the morning of the big day, as guests lounged poolside and enjoyed some of that Cabo brand sunshine, it was time to get the preparations underway. Safe in the air-conditioned comfort of her suite, Vicki was the epitome of bridal elegance in a crisp white two-piece with a vibrant red overlay, her bright lips, gold jewelry, and gorgeous green eyes completing the statement look. As any bride knows, you are only as good as your girls, and Vicki’s team was on point in shimmering pink and gold. Her sister, the maid of honor, upped the ante by donning baby blue, and with hair and makeup kits packed away, Team Vicki was officially wedding-ready.  After a short and sweet first look (note the adorable tears in Vik’s eyes) it was time to board the buses.

Our couple had chosen the iconic Sunset MonaLisa as the location for their festivities. Nestled cliffside over Missiones Beach and with views to Land’s End and the famous Los Cabos Arch, the restaurant is surrounded by sandy beaches, towering rock formations, and emerald green oceans. On a terrace overlooking the horizon, Vicki and Vik said “I do” in a ceremony punctuated with love, giggles, and good-natured jibes, leaving our guests roaring with laughter and crying happy tears as the celebrant announced Mr. and Mrs. Sed for the first time. The congratulations were in full swing, but Vicki and Vik were just getting started, having prepared an epic celebration to follow.

A quick outfit adjustment saw Vicki remove her traditional red lehenga and dance her way into her reception in white. Vicki and Vik had chosen to go minimal when it came to floral decorations, opting to showcase Cabo in all its glory. String lights twinkled in the evening sky as guests toasted to the future, and as DJ Ricardo Patiño opened the dance floor the Cabo sky lit up with fireworks. It was an evening to remember for all the right reasons, and we hope Mr. and Mrs. Sed, their friends and family enjoyed it every bit as much as we did.

PS. A huge thank you to Vicki and Vik for your kind words. Your testimonial means the world to us.

Until next time,

Amanda and Brad’s Wedding Film, Los Cabos, Mexico

Small, cozy and away from the hustle and bustle of downtown, Cabo Surf Hotel is renowned for its laid back, hippy vibe, and picture-perfect surf break. Its rolling lawns, towering palm trees, and scenic ocean views combine with intimacy to create communal gathering spots perfect for small scale, outdoor gatherings. Olga Bustos of Los Cabos Makeup fame was onsite to take care of our bride and her gorgeous girl’s beauty needs. Olga sculpted Amanda’s glossy locks into a wavy, half up half down do, opting for a smokey eye and dramatic lashes to complete the look. Amanda was helped into her spectacular lace gown and sparkling accessories by her bridesmaids, who looked fabulous in muted tones and flowing silhouettes. After practicing their dance steps once or twice on the bridal suite’s balcony, it was go time!

Los Cabos destination weddings come in all shapes and sizes, from private elopements on the shores of the Pacific to traditional Catholic ceremonies and elegant receptions with hundreds in attendance. Variety is the spice of life, and that variety means we are never bored on the job, but there is always something very special about a small, intimate celebration with only a couple’s closest click in attendance. That’s just what Amanda and Brad chose to do last March, vowing a lifetime of love at the pared back and boho beautiful Cabo Surf Hotel overlooking the Sea of Cortez.

Our love birds heartfelt, toes-in-the-sand ceremony was conducted by the bride’s brother Adam and took place to the sounds of violin and cello on the hotel’s beachfront, before rolling waves, perfect sunshine and an excited gathering of the couple’s favorite people. Wedding planner Martha Lomeli from Amy Abbott events, along with Baja Boutique Rental, Del Cabo Events, and Baja Botanic florists designed a simple, seaside ceremony setup featuring tropical leaves, creamy white lilies and the deep blues of the Sea of Cortez front and center. After the traditional breaking of the glass it was time to get the party started, the music courtesy of Cabo’s own DJ Alex Alanis. Guests dined on fresh local cuisine, sipped fine wines and fruity cocktails, and took many a snapshot at Amanda and Brad’s super fun photo booth, courtesy of Cabo Photo Booth. All in all, one very memorable evening marked by balmy ocean breezes and starry skies.

A special thank you to our partners in crime, Ana and Jerome photographers, whose images we can’t wait to see. Congratulations Amanda and Brad, and thank you for taking us with you on the journey!
