Today, more than ever, we are becoming aware of just how important family, love, and laughter are to a healthy lifestyle. While joy and togetherness surround weddings day in and day out, every once in a while we are lucky enough to meet a couple for whom family is forever at the forefront. Enter Kate and Roger, whose intimate celebration at the beautiful Acre Baja was about just that. Family. Along with wedding planner Lauren Lemke of Amy Abbott Events, this fun-loving couple designed a dynamic celebration that focused on showing their nearest and dearest just how much they are loved.
Kate’s wedding day preparations kicked off at Hotel El Ganzo, a funky, modern art-inspired resort just outside of San Jose del Cabo. Our gorgeous bride, along with the sensational stylists at Blanc Bridal Salon, showed us less really is more when it comes to putting together your destination wedding look. Kate opted for a relaxed down do of soft waves and barely-there makeup to complement her simple, crisp white gown. Her bridesmaids were given carte blanche when it came to apparel, choosing sophisticated designs in varying colors, with pared-back hair and makeup to boot. Accessories? It was all about the earings. Check out our bride’s stunning showstoppers! On the boy’s side of paradise, Roger celebrated his getting ready by messing around with the guys, before donning a dark blue suit with an open neck dress shirt and laid back accessories. After an intimate first look overlooking the ocean, it was time to move our cameras to the nearby Acre Baja.
When it came to tying the knot, Kate and Roger called on a close family friend to deliver a ceremony that was hilariously funny, appropriately sweet and all things perfect. Kate, accompanied by both her mother and father, made her grand entrance to the melodic sounds of solo guitarist Adan Mijares. A hexagonal wooden arch adorned with white blossoms framed our couple, as their closest family and friends witnessed the long-awaited moment. Both bride and groom promised to “always be family” before sealing the deal with a dramatic first kiss.
Again, Kate and Roger’s wedding was designed to show each and every attendee that they are family. Florist extraordinaire Christina Gonzalez teamed up with designers at Del Cabo to create a reception space featuring lots of dark wood, simple white lilies, and light, light, light! Waitstaff served a scrumptious plated dinner beneath a ceiling of twinkling market lights before Cabo’s own Kilometro Band opened the dance floor with a playlist of the very best. “Daddy’s girl” Kate shared a touching dance with her father, who in turn delivered an emotional speech that had guests digging around for their Kleenex! Fine wine, tropical cocktails, and premium liquor did their part to keep feet on the dance floor, but it was Kate and Roger’s generous nod to the importance of family that had partygoers jiving until last call.
A huge thank you to Lago Photo for your talent and dedication. It was a pleasure to share the day with you! To Kate and Roger – we wish you a lifetime of love, laughter and, most importantly, family!
Until next time,
Angel + Luz
